Master’s Level Fee for Service Strong Start Clinician position (i.e. social work, counseling, psychology)

The Center for Behavioral Health’s Strong Start program is a collaborative model that pairs an FSGB clinician with an FSGB educational specialist on site at individual, under-resourced urban early education and care centers to significantly upgrade the centers’ capacity to address the mental health needs of low-income children through clinical assessments, child and family therapy, teacher training and consultation, and parenting skill building.

FSGB uses a strength-based approach, assists families to navigate systemic barriers that impede improved child and family functioning. Comprehensive assessments include diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, crisis intervention, parent support, psycho-education, referrals, linking clients with community supports (formal & informal) and collaboration. Collaborates with pediatric practices with focus on client’s total health

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively balance clinical skills with administrative responsibilities and have strong organizational skills. Third party billing required.   Ability to comply with all state regulations and contracted payers (managed care companies). Also, candidates must be able to navigate early education and care centers and have a thorough understanding of early childhood environments (work as a team member with education specialists and collaboratively with early education and care personnel). Master’s Level Fee for Service Behavioral Health Clinician positions (i.e. social work, counseling, psychology)

Applicants must have a Master’s or Doctoral degree in social work, counseling, psychology, nursing, or other related disciplines and either be independently licensed or actively working towards independent licensure within 24 months upon receiving a Master’s degree.  One – two years minimum experience with high risk populations preferred (i.e. trauma, behavior disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, abuse or neglect within families).  Engages as many family members as necessary to improve child-youth behavioral and emotional health while assisting families to identify and secure informal and formal supports. Experience with trauma a plus, but not required.

Master Level Home Based Behavioral Therapist

Seeking talented, compassionate, dedicated, master level behavior therapists  to provide home based behavioral interventions with children, youth, caregivers and families in Boston.   Bilingual (Spanish) skills highly desired. 

Responsibilities include:  Complete functional behavioral assessments, develop with caregivers behavioral action plans aimed to increase socially desirable behaviors and/or decrease/eliminate undesirable behaviors.  Teach and model specific behavioral techniques for caregivers and behavioral coaches to implement.  FSGB uses a strength based approach, and engages as many family members as necessary to reach goals of behavioral plans. Collaborate with pediatricians, psychiatrists, schools, private and public organizations as necessary.

Qualifications Master Level  Degree:  MSW, MS, MA (i.e. counseling, psychology).  One to two years minimum experience with children, youth and families in home or community setting.  Training in Applied Behavioral Analysis is highly beneficial and desirable.  Experience working with children diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as children with behavioral-emotional disorders.  Bilingual skills highly desired:  Spanish-English a priority.

Behavioral Monitor-Coach

Behavior Monitor-Coach: Bachelors degree in human service related field plus a minimum of 2 + years of direct experience working with children with behavioral disorders.  The behavioral coach works with children, youth and their caregivers in their home to increase desirable behaviors and reduce or eliminate problematic behaviors after a functional behavioral assessment and behavioral treatment plan have been developed by a master level therapist with caregivers.  The position includes coaching caregivers and other family members in implementation of the plan and specific behavioral interventions.Experience with special education needs, Autism Spectrum Disorders, oppositional defiant disorder and challenging behaviors is desirable. The coach works closely with Master level behavior therapist. Bilingual skills desired (Spanish) but not required.  Fee for service and full time salaried postions are available.

Bilingual Clinicians

Job Description:  Engaging children, youth, caregivers and families in home and community  based therapetuic interventions in Boston. Frequency of visits is dependent of each family's unique needs and circumstances, on average 2ce per week.  FSGB uses a strength based approach, engages as many family members as needed to stabilize children and families, assists families in identifying and securing additional resources for informal or formal social supports.  Developing trusting relationships and assisting families to navigate systemic barriers is essential.  Responsibilities include diagnostic evaluations, CANS, comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, psycho-education, referrals, working in teams, linking clients with community supports (formal & informal) and collaboration.  Referrals come from various sources, including hospitals, emergency service providers, DCF, self referrals, etc.  Requires collaboration skills with public and private organizations on behalf of children, youth and families.  Services are often delivered in a team model (Master teamed with Bachelor staff). The Center for Family Based Services at FSGB provides Children's Behavioral Health Initiative services (In Home Therapy, In Home Behavioral Services, and Therapeutic Mentoring) in addition to DCF contracted Family Support and Stabilization services.  Full time salaried and Fee for Service positions available.

Qualifications:  MSW or related Masters Level (i.e. counseling, psychology).  LICSW, LCSW, LMHC or LMFT or eligibility preferred.  One to two years minimum experience with at risk children, youth and families is necessary.  Experience working with trauma, behavior-emotional disorders, substance use/abuse, working with at risk teens, abuse or neglect, poverty and systemic issues ideal; experience working with children diagnosed on the ASD is a plus.
