Few organizations endure such a long history without making a substantial impact.
Our goal has been the same for the past 180 years: to help families be families. Every day Family Service helps children and families facing life's most difficult challenges. We aim to continue in the tradition of shaping a healthier Boston by developing and supporting programs to meet the needs of city residents confronting the most damaging effects of poverty, discrimination, violence and isolation.
Our mission at Family Service of Greater Boston is to break the cycle of intergenerational family disadvantage. We promote the self sufficiency and well-being of at-risk children, youth and families by providing innovative, culturally competent and integrated social services to help people reach their fullest potential.
Our clinicians work with clients and family members to reduce the risk of suicide. For more information speak with your clinician or visit the Suicide Prevention Resource Center's web site at www.sprc.org or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline's web site at www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org.
